This Afternoon In Port Aransas

This from the late afternoon today. The local five o'clock news just showed lots of kids at Luby Park on Padre Island. Very much a different scene there.

The Fresh Air Fund is also in need of hosts for this summer. Host families are volunteers who open their hearts and home to a child from the city to give a fresh air experience that disadvantaged children never forget. Below is a link which explains everything.

Cold And Drizzly Today

No spring breakers in sight today! It is cold and drizzly. We need the rain. It rained yesterday as well, not heavy steady rain but a sputtering drizzle. It's not a drought buster by any means.

Spring Break Begins In Port Aransas

Until now the local beaches have been relatively uncrowded but now we are into another spring break period and the beaches will likely be pretty busy for the next three weeks or so.
Spring break weather has been notoriously fickle but it looks as though the throngs of revelers might get lucky this year.
This is a pic from atop the Dunes Hotel in Port Aransas just before the noon hour.
